Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These terms apply to lawn maintenance and hedge & shrub trimming services provided by Jay's Home & Lawn ("we," "us," "our") to residential customers ("you," "your") in Rowan County, NC and surrounding areas. By requesting or receiving service, you agree to these terms.

1. Services & Estimates

We provide residential lawn maintenance (mowing, string trimming, edging, and blowing of serviced hard surfaces) and hedge & shrub trimming (hedges and shrubs up to 5 feet tall, including cleanup of trimmings, with haul-away available for an additional charge). We do not perform tree work, mulch installation, chemical lawn treatments, aeration, irrigation work, or large landscaping projects. Estimates are based on the property information and photos available to us at the time of the quote and may be adjusted if actual property conditions differ.

2. Scheduling

Service dates may change due to weather, equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or other circumstances outside our control. When this happens, we complete service as soon as conditions allow and will let you know if your scheduled date changes.

3. Property Access

Gates must be unlocked and pets secured before your scheduled visit. If an area of your property is inaccessible at the time of service, that area may be skipped for that visit. Skipping an inaccessible area does not automatically reduce the price of the scheduled service, since our time and equipment remain committed to the job.

4. Customer Property Preparation

Please remove toys, hoses, decorations, and other obstacles from the areas to be serviced before we arrive. Excessive debris, pet waste, or other conditions on the property may result in the affected area being skipped or an additional charge being applied.

5. Pets

For everyone's safety, pets should be kept indoors or securely contained while service is being performed.

6. Service Limitations

Lawn maintenance covers mowing, string trimming around obstacles and areas the mower cannot reach, edging of applicable hard surfaces, and blowing of grass clippings from driveways, sidewalks, patios, and other serviced hard surfaces. Hedge & shrub trimming covers shaping of hedges and shrubs up to 5 feet tall; we do not climb, remove, or perform work on trees of any size.

7. Overgrown Properties & Additional Labor

Lawns or hedges that are significantly overgrown compared to normal maintenance conditions may require additional time, multiple passes, or a first-service/cleanup rate instead of a standard maintenance rate. We will always aim to confirm any adjusted pricing with you before or as part of completing the work.

8. Additional Charges

Additional charges may apply for conditions such as excessive overgrowth, excessive debris or pet waste, haul-away of trimmings, or work outside the originally quoted scope. Where practical, we'll let you know before charges are applied.

9. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Invoices and payment requests are sent through our scheduling and invoicing platform.

10. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a scheduled visit whenever possible.

11. Property Damage & Pre-Existing Conditions

We take reasonable care while working on your property. You are responsible for identifying and marking hidden hazards such as sprinkler heads, invisible pet fencing, shallow irrigation lines, drain covers, septic components, newly seeded or sodded areas, and similar items before service begins. We are not responsible for damage to unmarked or undisclosed hazards, or for pre-existing conditions on the property. Any damage concerns should be reported to us within 48 hours of the service in question.

12. Service Concerns

If you have a concern about a completed service, please contact us within 48 hours so we can review it and make it right. This 48-hour window applies to reporting concerns — it does not mean that all completed work is otherwise unreviewable or that we won't work with you to resolve a legitimate issue reported later, but prompt reporting helps us address it accurately.

13. Photos & Documentation

We may take photos of property conditions before, during, or after service for our own records, to document completed work, for training purposes, or for use in marketing materials such as our website gallery. If you'd prefer photos of your property not be used publicly, just let us know.

14. Recurring Service & Seasonal Adjustments

Recurring (weekly or bi-weekly) service schedules, mowing heights, and service frequency may be adjusted seasonally based on grass growth rates and weather conditions, consistent with healthy lawn care practices.

15. Termination of Recurring Service

You may pause or cancel recurring service at any time by contacting us. We may also decline to continue recurring service for a property, such as in cases of repeated access issues, unsafe conditions, or non-payment, and will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.

16. Referral Program

Referral credits, where offered, are subject to the current terms posted on our website and FAQ, and may be changed at any time.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on our website at the time of your service request applies.
